How To Deal With Dandruff And Get Rid Of It Forever.

Dandruff is a common hair problem - it is characterized by small white flakes that appear in your hair and, what is the most embarrassing thing, they are visible on your head, fly down to your shoulders that can make you feel really bad and lower your self esteem when dealing with other people. It can be difficult to get rid of the dandruff, but with proper hair care you can control and stop it.

The most important thing when dealing with dandruff is to shampoo your hair every day. This will clean your hair and skin from all dust, dead cells and prevent bacterial propagation.
I suggest you to buy 2 or 3 different shampoo brands and switch between them. One of those should be anti-dandruff shampoo, other one or two - regular brands, that will be less active and simply clean your hair in a gentle way. You can pick up a baby shampoo or one that you like simply because you like the way it smells :) . It's up to you.
Rotating brands is good because in this way you prevent the scalp from getting used to just one type of shampoo and from developing immunity to it, so the scalp should react better to active substances that anti-dandruff shampoo contains. Moreover, if you keep using the same anti-dandruff solution every day and stop after a certain period of time, white flakes may be back again. So switch between shampoos.

Which shampoo is the best one? The most common active substances that anti-dandruff shampoos contain are: zinc pyrithione, ketoconazole, selenium sulfide or salicylic acid.
You can try different brands to see which one is the best one for you, but remember to use anti-dandruff shampoo no more than once every two or three days (to prevent the scalp from becoming too dry).

You can also consider to try homemade hair treatments to get rid of dandruff.
Below you will find some of the remedies:

* Vinegar wash (suggested to use: apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar)
Mix two teaspoons of vinegar with six teaspoons of water and rub it against your scalp, then wrap your head with a towel and leave it for 30 minutes. Be careful not to let the vinegar get into your eyes (if it happens - rinse eyes immediately with clear water). If the applied mixture burns, wash it off immediately, if not, leave for 30 minutes. Then, rinse it with warm water and wash your hair with normal shampoo. The smell of vinegar should evaporate after a while.

* Lemon juice massage
Squeeze one lemon. When you shower, apply fresh lemon juice to hair and massage into scalp with soft moves of your fingers. When you finish the massage, rinse your hair with warm water. To obtain best results, wash your hair first with shampoo, then apply the lemon juice. This cure helps also with greasy hair.

!
It often happens that dandruff is accompanied by itchiness. If it is your case - do not scratch your head! Scratching will make it even worse and you can make small wounds on your scalp.

Following those tips should help you to get rid of dandruff after a few weeks. However, if you suffer from hard-to-cure dandruff, you should consult a dermatologist.
